Barber: HIV/AIDS For Licensure Renewal

This course informs Barbers of necessary facts about HIV/AIDS. Upon completion of the course, the student will have a general knowledge base of HIV/AIDS, how it is transmitted, and how to protect themselves as well as their clients from acquiring the virus in the workplace. This course will complete the required 2 hours of continuing education for Barbers to renew their license in the State of Florida.

As of July 2024, FL Barbers with 10+ years of an "active" license are no longer required to take CE courses. Your license MUST be in good standing with the FL DBPR for 10 consecutive years.

Learning Objectives 

1. Students will understand the difference between HIV and AIDS.
2. Students will understand the various modes of transmission of HIV.
3. Students will be able to identify the different ways to control the transmission of HIV.
4. Students will understand how HIV can be managed and transmission can be prevented.
5. Students will understand the importance of appropriate behavior and attitude when servicing a client with HIV/AIDS, as well as the necessary sanitary requirements.

ATTENDANCE – You can read the material at your own pace. There is no time limit to complete the course. 

COURSE CREDIT – In order to receive credit for this course, you must submit the answers to the 10-question test and attain a passing score of 70% or higher.
